During what he describes as a mid-life “anti-crisis” Larry started exploring yoga solely as a form of physical exercise. Like many, he quickly experienced measurable improvements in his physical well-being. However, more striking and influential in his yogic journey were the body-mind-spirit connection awakening in him and the transformational effects manifesting themselves in his everyday life off of the mat. Through yoga, Larry discovered meditation and he has been practicing Buddhist / mindfulness meditation consistently since 2010.
In 2013, he became involved in teaching mindfulness meditation and yoga to prison inmates and also regularly teaches mindfulness meditation to faculty, staff & students at Marquette University. Larry has studied Hatha, Iyengar, Tantric, Vinyasa, and Viniyoga Yoga styles with Jim Bennitt, Jason Crandell, Seane Corn, Gary Kraftsow, Sri Dharma Mittra, Raghunath and Rodney Yee. He has studied meditation with David Nichtern, a Senior Teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist lineage of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Vipassana Meditation with Paul Fowler in the tradition of senior teachers Rosemary and Steve Weissman and meditation, yoga & ethics with Michael Stone.
Larry received his RYT 200 hour certification in Vinyasa Yoga at Core Essence under the guidance of Shayne Broadwell & Ali Szarzynski in 2016. He is an RTT 200 - Registered Thai Bodyworker certified through Thai Healing Alliance International [T.H.A.I] and a 2013 graduate of Blue Lotus Thai Healing Studies in Chicago, IL, where he also served as a TA to Paul Fowler.
