Ali found yoga in high school and years later discovered her calling to teach, but not before taking the long way there. From this was born a belief in the purpose of the journey and a dedication to assisting students to know, care for, love, and be the most themselves. Her classes are richly steeped in education, experience, and an intuitive wisdom of the heart. Ali blends alignment and flow, anatomy and storytelling, and modern research and yoga ideology into a uniquely comprehensive experience for body, mind and soul. She draws her strength as a teacher from her faith in the power of yoga as a transformative practice for healing, growth, wellness, and joy.
Ali specializes in yoga for trauma, therapeutic yoga, meditation, alignment-based asana, and vinyasa. Always with a passion for healing and wellness, her career vision began on a larger scale in humanitarian and environmental work, having received her B.A. in Global Studies, earning certificates in Developmental Studies, Peace Studies and Student Teaching. She found greater purpose in working small scale, directly with people and bodies through the modality of yoga. She is trained in Vinyasa Flow, Yoga Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Anatomy Trains, Trauma-Informed Yoga, Yoga Medicine, and more. Grateful to her many teachers, past, present and future, Ali remains a curious and devout student, continuing to study, train, learn and grow (As her dad says, “I never want to stop learning until the day I die.”). Ali recognizes the diversity and vastness of yoga to be one of its most beautiful and important features. Indeed, yoga is for everyone.
