TWISTED HIPPY HAPPY HOUR

Join Erin and Steph for a fun and funky Vinyasa flow that will help you tap into your creative side. We will be working out all the wiggles, offering unusual but useful transitions, and grooving to some great music as we move through some mild twists and deep outer hip work. All levels welcome, and modifications shared for challenging postures. Come flow with us!

ARM BALANCE EXTRAVAGANZA

Explore the art of balancing on your hands as Erin and Steph break down some of the more popular arm balances including Crow, Side Crow, EPK, and more. Learn wrist/arm strengthening techniques, core foundations, and the body control needed to flip your perspective and lift yourself up. Open to all levels, and modifications always included, but suggested for those with a consistent practice.

FINDING FLOAT: AN EXPLORATION OF HANDSTAND AND HANDSTAND PRESSING

Calling all inversion addicts! This two-hour workshop-based clinic will help you solidify and strengthen your favorite ways to get upside down, all while cultivating the muscular awareness necessary for stabilizing your hold time and/or pressing up. Learn warm-ups, key strength-building drills, and helpful modifications to find your float in forearm stand and handstand. Open to all levels, modifications always provided, but encouraged for those with a regular practice and some previous inversion exploration.

Aroma Yoga: Summer Scents Series

Join us for a summer of candlelight evenings of Restorative Aroma Yoga. Let’s rejuvenate the body and restore the mind throughout the summer season with this calming oil-infused practice. Each month we will be diving into the use of various oils, diffusing them to create a heavenly aroma allowing you to settle in and relax. To enhance your yogic experience, oil blends will be applied topically to your body to allow for a physical and emotional release.

 

  • June 4th – Hips + Heart: Open and release hips and heart to support clarity of the mind and a physically fit body for summer
  • July 9th – Lighten Up + Purify: Supporting health, aiding digestion, and detoxifying the body
  • August 6th – Inner Light: A restorative path to self-discovery by grounding and reflecting inwards

The Urban 108 @ Summer Soulstice Music Festival

For the third year in a row, Urban Om is teaming up with the East Side BID for Summer Soulstice Music Festival. Let’s celebrate The Urban 108 under the summer sun at Water Tower Park! The Urban 108 is an invigorating combination of 108 Sun Salutations mixed with segments of an Urban Om Flow class. Whether you complete a quarter, half or all 108 sun salutations, you will be taken to your edge. This dynamic and empowering class is great for students of all levels. Be sure to bring plenty of water, comfortable clothes, and be prepared to breathe, sweat, detox, and most importantly – have fun!

 

This event is FREE! Participants will receive a special ‘108’ sticker after the event to help commemorate your achievement

Urban Restoration + Yoga Nidra

Sunday, June 25, 1:30-3:30pm
$30 day of / $25 in advance

 

Join Angela for a two hour practice to rest, rejuvenate, and restore. It will start with a restorative yoga practice and end with yoga nidra. A restorative practice utilizing props such as blocks, blankets, bolsters, and straps to support the body in each pose. Each posture is held anywhere from 2-10 minutes with deep breathe awareness to oxygenate the body. During these long holds, your muscles relax deeply, while the props provide the body with the necessary support to allow space for the tissues to safely lengthen. Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep guides us to a space between wakefulness and sleep. Using relaxation and visualization techniques, the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of his or her internal world by following a set of verbal instructions. It is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. Restorative yoga and yoga nidra is for everyone regardless of age, physical ability, religion, or beliefs. Yogis of all levels are encouraged to attend and will leave feeling well-rested and rejuvenated.
